Pep Guardiola makes Leeds fanbase claim while discussing ‘incomparable’ Bielsa
Pep Guardiola has claimed that Leeds United fans will remember Marcelo Bielsa long after he leaves the club.
The Manchester City has been a long-time admirer of the Argentine, who has helped to guide the Whites to the brink of a historic promotion back to the Premier League after 16 years away.
And Guardiola isn’t just impressed with the results Bielsa is getting out of his side, but the manner in which he is doing so.
Speaking on Bielsa: El Loco & Leeds (Sky Sports Football, July 9th, 7pm), he said: “Few teams in the world, few managers play the way Marcelo plays.
“They are incredibly aggressive, they are always in movement. They attack with a lot of people, they defend with a lot of people.
“He is the best, most well-prepared manager I have ever seen in my life. Work ethic is incomparable.
“I know he is still loved in Bilbao, I know he is a legend, an icon in Chile. I think we cannot deny how enjoyable Leeds games are for the fans, and the people will not forget it.”
Bielsa is a legend of the modern game, and he has revolutionised this Leeds side.
Not only are they an absolute force to be reckoned with on the pitch, but it’s hard to remember a time when the city felt as united behind the club as it is right now.
Last season was a cruel blow after so much hard work, but this time around we look closer than ever before.
According to Infogol, Leeds recorded an xG of 3.88 against Stoke, their highest of the season to date.
To put in that kind of performance at such a crucial point in the campaign suggests that the Whites have plenty more left in the tank, and with four games to go, it’s almost time to start dreaming.
