Pedro Neto and Nelson Semedo ruled out of Wolves v Leeds United

Leeds United have received a big boost in their hopes for Friday’s game away at Wolves with Bruno Lage confirming two players will miss the game.

Portuguese pair Pedro Neto and Nelson Semedo had already been doubts for the game but the Wolves manager confirmed in his pre-match press conference that both will have to wait until after the international break to return to action.

Ki-Jana Hoever is another who will miss the game but his confirmation was already known before Lage sat down to speak to the media.

The Athletic’s Tim Spiers shared the news via his personal Twitter account and it is all good news to hear for Leeds fans.

“Neto and Semedo will be back after the international break,” Lage said, as reported by Spiers.

Game on

This is exactly what Jesse Marsch and Whites supporters will have wanted to hear as it gives them a huge boost of confidence for tomorrow evening’s clash.

Semedo has been one of the Molineux club’s most influential players this season and his bold attacking runs down the right-hand side have caused many teams problems already.

He will likely be replaced by Jonny Otto as the right wing-back in a 3-5-2 system.

Neto meanwhile has been absent for much of the season already after suffering a horror injury last season.

He has played some minutes in gold recently but Lage is being extra careful with the youngster’s recovery given the extended period he has been absent for.

Daniel Podence is probably Lage’s go-to man to fill the void left by Neto and the little trickster will still cause problems for the Leeds defence, albeit not as directly as Neto would have done had he been fit.

In other Leeds United news, Marsch has been amazed at one thing in Premier League football since he arrived in LS11.
