Paul Merson takes aim at what Jesse Marsch said after Leeds smashed by Aston Villa
Paul Merson has been left in dismay after what Jesse Marsch said after Leeds United were smashed by Aston Villa.
The Sky Sports pundit insisted that the American admitted that he didn’t realise that his players were so stressed.
After playing well at Leicester, the 3-0 defeat against Villa was embarrassing, and it sets up a must-win game with Norwich.

Writing in his Sportskeeda column, Merson singled out the manager after his comments at the full-time whistle.
“Leeds, wow,” he said. “They were bad in their Premier League match against Aston Villa.
“I didn’t like what the manager said after the game either – he said he didn’t realise the players were that stressed. They played well against Leicester, but they got absolutely smashed by Villa.”

Wow.
Merson was not impressed, but the truth is, Marsch has been thrown into the deep end massively by Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta.
Of course, the American, from what it sounds, was set to take charge in the summer for the next phase, but instead, he has arrived early with the club in the worst possible place.
Having played more games than those around us, should Everton and Burnley pick up points, we are glued in the bottom three.
Radrizzani has questions to answer, but Marsch now has to prove that he was the right call and the first step is by giving these players a huge boost.
We have never seen them as low as they were against Villa, and that simply can’t happen on Sunday, in what promises to be our biggest game so far.
