Paul Merson shares Leeds United players verdict live on Sky Sports after win v Birmingham
Paul Merson doesn’t believe any of the Birmingham City players would get into the Leeds United team following the game between the two sides on Monday (1 January).
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Monday (05:19pm), the pundit said that there were substitutes that came on for the Whites that would “walk into” the Blues’ side.
It came after Daniel Farke’s men saw off the Midlands club 3-0 at Elland Road, with the goals coming from Patrick Bamford, Dan James and Crysencio Summerville.

“You look at the Leeds team, I don’t personally – without being horrible – I don’t see one Birmingham player getting in the Leeds team,” said Merson.
“I see subs coming on that would walk into Birmingham’s team, so you’re up against it.”
Gulf in class
The gulf in class between the two sides was clear to see the more the game went on as Leeds secured what was a pretty comfortable victory over Birmingham.
Since Wayne Rooney took over in October, the Blues have been on a horrendous run that has seen them slide down the Championship table.
There were very few players for the visitors that covered themselves in much glory at Elland Road and certainly none that showed they could do a job in the Whites team.

That is a huge positive for Farke, though, as it showed his side are far and away above some of the teams that they are coming up against this season.
After returning to winning ways with the victory, the West Yorkshire club simply have to find some consistency over the next few weeks if they are to challenge for an automatic promotion place in the second half of this campaign.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are targeting a Premier League ace as they prepare for a transfer blitz in January.
