Paul Merson predicts result of Leeds clash v Wolves

Paul Merson has backed Leeds United to pick up all three points in their Premier League clash against Wolves on Saturday.

The Sky Sports panellist has predicted that it will finish 2-1 to the Whites at Elland Road with the home crowd behind them.

Marcelo Bielsa has numerous injury problems throughout his squad, but will welcome Raphinha back in a major boost.

Writing in his Sportskeeda predictions column this week, Merson backed the Whites for another win at Elland Road.

“Wolves staged a great comeback against Aston Villa last weekend in the Premier League,” he wrote. “They were never in the game for 80 minutes or so, but they came back to win the derby 3-2 with three quick-fire goals.

“Leeds United, on the other hand, disappointed me against Southampton and didn’t even have a shot on target. This is a big game for both teams, but I just get the feeling that Leeds will nick this one.

“They are a different team at home and will look to win their second Premier League game of the season after comfortably beating Watford earlier this month.”

Much needed.

Bielsa will be desperate for all three points this weekend, with all the questions surrounding him regarding our form.

Injuries appear to be having a massive say in our form recently, and with the likes of Kalvin Phillips still missing, it won’t be any easier.

Add to that, the likes of Patrick Bamford and Luke Ayling also being missing is just rubbing salt into the wounds.

Merson is spot on though, the Whites are a different animal with the home crowd pushing them on to run through walls.

Given that Leeds are looking over their shoulders at the relegation zone, the sooner we can pick up some wins and create a gap, the better.
