Paul Merson predicts result of huge Leeds United clash vs Brentford
Paul Merson says Leeds United will ‘definitely get at least a point’ when they face off against Brentford in the final Premier League game of the season.
The Whites go into the final game of the season in the relegation zone on goal difference, meaning if they can better the result of Burnley on Sunday [May 22] then they will survive relegation and play Premier League football next season.
After scoring a huge 92nd minute goal last time out, the former Arsenal midfielder told SportsKeeda that the fight they showed in that game will do them well and he is predicting a 1-1 draw, which he sees as a positive result.

“Pascal Struijk’s 92nd-minute equaliser against Brighton could turn out to be an invaluable goal for Leeds United and could well be the moment that keeps them in the Premier League,” he said.
“They were average in the first half against Brighton, but if they play this game like they did in the second half, they’ll definitely get at least a point.
“They are playing for survival, so I expect them to show enough fight and get a positive result.”
Massive
This is the biggest game in Leeds’ recent history, even bigger than the playoff semi-final from a few years ago and by far the biggest of the season.
A win may not be enough on the day, so a draw would certainly be risky, but Brentford are no pushovers especially at home and it will be a very tough game with the rivalry between them rife.

Burnley’s result in the game at the same time against Newcastle will have a big play on how the team approach the game, but they absolutely must push for the win from the start to take the outcome into their own hands as much as possible.
The team have shown great character on several occasions under Jesse Marsch this season and if the American wants justification for getting the job, he needs a result here.
Fans will be praying that Merson is right on this occasion, considering his prediction for Burnley to lose too, but hopefully it’s not as tense as he’s made it out to be.
