Paul Merson ribs Dawson after what he admitted about Leeds United
Leeds United can take another big step towards winning the Championship title if they beat Bristol City in their final home game on Monday.
The Whites have already secured promotion back to the Premier League thanks to their emphatic 6-0 win over Stoke on 21 April.
But Daniel Farke’s men will now be hungry for silverware and will return to the top of the Championship table if they win against Bristol City.
The Whites will also be keen to sign off their last second-tier encounter at Elland Road in style after hammering the Potters.

Merson jokes about how Dawson attended Leeds vs Stoke
On Saturday, Paul Merson revealed on Sky Sports News that he won’t be attending Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final clash with PSG, but admitted that he doesn’t think he should get a ticket as he isn’t a regular.
The studio’s attention then turned to Leeds, as Simon Thomas said [Sky Sports News, 12.36pm]: “[Dawson] was at that sensational game against Stoke. How did you get a ticket?”
Merson joked: “It’s from the away-game tokens he’s got”, causing the studio to laugh.
Dawson replied: “No, I was very fortunate to be there. It was an incredible performance and something they’ve done all season.”

Leeds will have to be at their best to beat Bristol City
As alluded to by Dawson, Leeds have produced some impressive attacking performances all campaign, which is demonstrated by the fact that they are the top scorers in the Championship, notching 89 goals with two games still left to play.
Opponent | Result |
Preston (H) | 2-1 W |
Oxford (A) | 0-1 W |
Stoke (H) | 6-0 W |
The Whites produced their best football in their 6-0 triumph over Stoke, while they also thrashed relegation battlers Cardiff 7-0 on 1 February.
But the West Yorkshire giants will have to be at their best to overcome Bristol City on Monday, as the West Country outfit still need to earn points to secure their playoff spot.
Although the Robins were beaten 3-1 by relegation candidates Luton on Easter Monday, Liam Manning’s men proved their solidity when they held then automatic promotion hopefuls Sheffield United to a 1-1 draw on 11 March.
Manning’s side will be keen to achieve a similar feat against the Whites next time out, so Farke’s men will have to be at their best to claim a win which would further enhance their title credentials.
