Patrick Vieira on verge of new job after Leeds United manager talks
Patrick Viera is on the verge of becoming the new manager of RC Strasbourg despite holding talks about the Leeds United job last week, according to RMC Sport.
The Athletic’s Phil Hay reported on 23 June that the former Crystal Palace boss impressed in his interview for the Whites job, which became available after Sam Allardyce left the club at the end of last season.
Viera, 47, was sacked as Crystal Palace manager in March of this year but is now set to be appointed by the RC Strasbourg, with all parties optimistic that a deal will be completed.

The Daily Mail reported on Thursday (29 June) that former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke is closing in on the managerial vacancy, with the German already having been given a tour of Leeds’ facilities at Thorp Arch.

Whittling down the options
One step at a time, it seems like Leeds United are finally moving towards getting a new manager in place for the upcoming Championship season.
It has been a long time coming for the club, and with pre-season now only days away, it has become more pressing with every passing hour.
The Whites can’t afford to be behind the pack from game week one for the simple reason they weren’t organised enough to get a new manager at the helm, and hopefully, this update is another step in the right direction.
Viera was an attractive option for the club to pursue, considering the attacking and bold style of play he introduced at Selhurst Park, but it seems like he will now be heading back to his homeland to continue his managerial journey.
Farke remains the man to beat in the race to become Leeds United manager, and it feels like an official announcement could be drawing ever closer.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are planning to offer an exit-bound ace less money to stay, according to Phil Hay.
