Patrick Bamford update drops ahead of Leeds United v Millwall, final call today
Daniel Farke has provided a fitness update regarding Patrick Bamford as Leeds United prepare to face Millwall on Wednesday.
The Whites will look to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to nine games when they lock horns with the Lions at The Den on 6 November.
Looking ahead to the game, Farke revealed that there are no new injury problems in the team, although a decision needs to be made regarding Bamford and Joe Gelhardt after their final training session before the game.
“No new injury concerns. Some late decisions with Patrick Bamford and Joffy Gelhardt. We’ll have a final session this afternoon, both will try and train and we’ll take a decision [on] who is in the squad“, Farke said via the Yorkshire Evening Post at his press conference (5 November).
Patrick Bamford close to return for Leeds United after illness
Bamford has been restricted to just 47 minutes of Championship action this season, with Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph being Farke’s main strikers.
The Englishman has been a regular presence on the bench but missed Leeds United’s 3-0 win over Plymouth at Elland Road on Saturday (3 November). It turned out the striker missed out due to illness.
While Bamford is seemingly back in training, it remains to be seen if he is fully fit to be named in the matchday squad to face Millwall.

The Yorkshire-based club have gone on an eight-game unbeaten run since losing 1-0 against Burnley on 14 September. However, they have drawn three games in that period, therefore dropping six points. Had they managed to turn two of those results into wins, they would be atop the table now.
Farke’s side have also not won more than two games on the bounce this season and that needs to change if they are to earn an automatic promotion.
