Patrick Bamford has revealed what the Leeds United players are going to do their Christmas Party celebrations after the game against Ipswich Town on Saturday (23 December).

Speaking on the BBC's My Mate's A Footballer podcast on Thursday (21 December), the 30-year-old said the Whites players are heading down to London on Saturday and going to Winter Wonderland on Sunday.

Asked by host Joe Wilkinson whether footballers get drunk at Christmas Parties, the English forward revealed that they do and that he expects to see some of his teammates on the rides at the event in Hyde Park on Sunday.

"What is a footballer's Christmas do?" asked Wilkinson. "Do people get leathered?"

"Yeah," said Bamford.

"Okay, I didn't know if you were all too sensible," replied Wilkinson. "So what's the plan Sunday then?"

"So Sunday is Winter Wonderland, literally all day," added Bamford.

"Isn't that for children?" asked Wilkinson.

"I knew you were going to say that," replied Bamford. "For a start, it's probably going to be children on the rides. I reckon when it starts getting to about six or seven at night, you'll start seeing players on the rides."

Don't have too many

The Leeds game against Ipswich on Saturday could have a dramatic impact on how joyous the celebrations are on Sunday as they take on their Championship promotion rivals.

The Whites will be desperate to pick up a victory at Elland Road to close the gap back down to nine points on the Tractor Boys.

Daniel Farke's side then have a quick turnaround as they make the trip to Preston North End on Boxing Day in what could be another hard-fought match.

The German will, therefore, probably be hoping his players don't get too carried away in their celebrations at Winter Wonderland.

They will know the line of what is acceptable at such an important time in the season, though, so it's unlikely there will be any problems in such a high-profile environment.
