Patrick Bamford shares Instagram message after injury in Leeds draw v Chelsea

Patrick Bamford didn’t enjoy the best of afternoons in his 100th appearance for Leeds United on Saturday at Elland Road.

The Whites battled there way to a goalless draw against rivals Chelsea, but the striker didn’t get much of a say against his former side.

Bamford was forced off in the first half with a fresh injury problem and was replaced by record-signing Rodrigo with Gareth Southgate watching.

The striker has posted on his personal Instagram account on Saturday evening and didn’t give much of an update on his own fitness.

“A really good point today,” he wrote.

“Very proud to have played for Leeds United 100 times.”

No news is good news?

Whichever way you look at this, we are facing a nervous wait until Monday when we are expected to find out the severity of this blow.

Bamford attempted to continue after initially going down injured, which means it may not have been too bad at first, but that backfired only minutes later.

The Whites star was pushing for an England call-up this month, and with Southgate present, he could have blown his final chance to impress.

Leeds travel to Fulham on Friday in the final game before the international break, and should it require time on the sideline, this gap could save him and the Whites.

Bamford has proven everyone wrong in the Premier League this season, and this would be cruel should he have picked up a blow that will leave him sidelined for a period of time; fingers crossed it doesn’t.
