Patrick Bamford reacts to 'shocking' FIFA 22 rating in Leeds United video

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has expressed his disdain at his FIFA 22 ratings after they were revealed to him recently.

Ahead of the video game’s release, slated for October 1, Premier League players around the country have been finding out their official ratings.

Leeds posted a video via their official Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon showing Bamford, Kalvin Phillips and Luke Ayling all learning what they had been awarded by EA Sports.

“Shocking,” Bamford said instantly.

“I’m not too fussed about the defence but it’s the others. The pace and the shooting.

“In fact, all of it. Shocking.”

Undervalued by many

Bamford has finally earned international recognition with England under Gareth Southgate, winning his first cap with the Three Lions earlier this month.

However, it looks like not all organisations are completely convinced with the 28-year-old’s abilities.

It’s only a video game, but it’s an extremely popular one at that, particularly among a younger audience.

Bamford was awarded a rating of 78, which seems pretty harsh given his tally of 17 Premier League goals last season, which was just six fewer than Harry Kane.

Only Kane, Mohamed Salah and Bruno Fernandes scored more.

For context, Kane has been awarded a 90 rating and Salah 89.

Bamford is probably justified in his critique; ‘shocking’ feels appropriate as his skills have once again been undermined.

Ultimately, this all pales into insignificance in reality as Bamford looks to get back on the goal trail and lift Leeds from their current predicament.

It’s only been four Premier League games, against some tough opposition at that, but the Whites will be desperate to claim their first win soon.

In other Leeds United news, Paul Robinson predicts this Whites player is set for a season on the sidelines after an Elland Road development.
