Patrick Bamford reacts to Leeds United exit news as confirmation made

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has ‘liked’ a social media post from Tyler Adams confirming his exit from the Whites.

The midfielder, who joined the Whites last summer from RB Leipzig, has completed a transfer to Premier League club Bournemouth.

Adams, a USA international, made 26 appearances in all competitions for the West Yorkshire outfit in his one and only season at the club.

Sharing the news about his Elland Road exit, Adams posted on Instagram: “Not an easy goodbye. The club, my teammates and the fans have supported me since day one, and I wish I could’ve given more in the home stretch. Forever grateful for this past year.”

And among those liking the post was Adams’ former Leeds teammate Bamford.

Huge miss

Adams was a massive miss for Leeds in the final stages of last season, with the midfielder absent for the last 12 league games due to a hamstring injury.

Who knows exactly what might have happened had the USA international been fit for those matches, with the Whites struggling without him as they were relegated to the Championship.

Leeds had already lost several key players since their demotion from the Premier League in May, and now despite their best efforts have been forced to say goodbye to another.

The club’s midfield now looks completely different, with Weston McKennie returning to his parent club Juventus following his loan at Elland Road, as Marc Roca has left on loan for Real Betis.

Ethan Ampadu has been signed from Chelsea to help solve the midfield problem, but it is an issue that has now been worsened again following the loss of Adams to Bournemouth.
