Patrick Bamford injury update shared ahead of Leeds United clash v Norwich City
Leeds United are hopeful that Patrick Bamford will be available to play in the playoff final at Wembley should they beat Norwich in the semi-final.
Writing on their website (16 May), LeedsLive reports that the striker is unavailable for the second leg of the clash with the Canaries at Elland Road with a knee injury.
But with a win the Whites will head to Wembley on 26 May to face either Southampton or West Brom for a place in the Premier League, and Daniel Farke’s side believe the 30-year-old could be available to play.
Patrick Bamford return would be huge boost for Leeds United
Leeds have scored a huge amount of goals this season, with the majority of them coming from winger Crysencio Summerville. But Bamford has been reliable in front of goal for several years.
The former England international has hit nine goals in all competitions this season, but his presence in the penalty area has been missed in recent games.
Bamford suffered a knee problem in the 4-3 win over Middlesbrough and has missed the last three games against QPR, Southampton and Norwich where the team have managed to score just once in his absence.

They will need to score without him to get to Wembley, but there is no doubt that Daniel Farke will be hoping he has Bamford fit and available should they get to the final because Leeds are better with him in the team.
If he isn’t fit Leeds will still feel they have enough to get promoted, but considering recent performances it can be nothing but a huge boost for him to be available and give the manager a selection headache.
