Patrick Bamford finished at Leeds United after Phil Hay update
Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford is “almost certainly out” of their crucial Premier League final-day clash against Tottenham meaning he is now surely finished at Elland Road.
The Elland Road favourite has undergone a difficult last few weeks of a disastrous Premier League for the whole club, missing a decisive penalty against Newcastle in their 2-2 draw [13 May] and suffering some terrible online abuse as a result.
He then came off injured in the first half of their disappointing 3-1 defeat to West Ham last weekend, leaving them rooted to the relegation places, two points from safety with just a game to go.
And according to The Athletic journalist Hay, writing in his article [25 May], Sam Allardyce has some big decisions to make ahead of the game, with his preferred number nine likely missing out potentially calling time on his Leeds United career.
“Patrick Bamford is almost certainly out. They will try to hold Rodrigo together with string. No Tyler Adams and no Luis Sinisterra. Just another day at Elland Road.”
According to Fichajes on 5 April, he’s already got proposals on the table for a transfer in the summer and given the difficulties he’s faced recently he very well may well consider it.

And it’s unlikely the forward will want to be playing Championship football again, especially with his worrying injury record potentially facing more damaging consequences playing a 46-game season.
The Elland Road fan favourite has struggled to find his best form again this past year after returning from a long injury layoff back in February 2022.
Since then he’s only managed a handful of goals with many arguing he is past his best and incapable of dragging the club out of trouble.
When he’s been strangely started over Rodrigo in recent weeks, Bamford has proven anonymous probably giving the indication that his heart is not in it any longer.
With a huge summer ahead for Leeds United, surrounding the potential 49ers Enterprises takeover and a major overhaul in the playing squad, the Whites will surely be excited at any sort of offers for Bamford’s services this summer.
The marriage between the two parties has been fun and eventful while it lasted but it is evidently clear, things are petering out right now given his poor form and dreadful injury record.
A sorry and unfortunate divorce now seems the best pathway for both parties moving forward.
In other Leeds United news, a potential fresh injury blow has emerged ahead of their crucial final-day Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road.
