Patrick Bamford decision expected in Leeds United starting XI v Watford

Patrick Bamford is expected to start on the bench for Leeds United against Watford at Elland Road on 22 October, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper reported in its print edition [22 October, pg 56] that Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe still remain ahead of him in the pecking order.

Daniel Farke admitted Bamford needs to remain patient after his injury issues at Elland Road, as the Whites looking to continue their unbeaten run in the Championship.

Patrick Bamford struggling at Leeds United

Bamford made his way to West Yorkshire in the summer of 2018 and went on to establish himself as a pivotal player in the team.

After helping the Whites to Premier League promotion, the 31-year-old took the top flight by storm, scoring 17 goals.

Unfortunately, injuries have hampered the striker’s progress since then, and the Englishman has been on the sidelines for the most part during the prime age of his career.

As things stand, Bamford finds himself in a tricky spot at Leeds, and it looks like Farke has decided to trust other players in the forward line.

The Whites have exploded Joseph onto the scene this season, scoring the second against Sheffield United with Piroe also prolific when getting the chance.

Therefore, seeing Bamford find his feet again and regain his spot in the starting lineup under the German manager seems complicated.

In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke has already said yes to a new transfer at Elland Road this week.
