Patrick Bamford closing in on full fitness ahead of Leeds United v Everton clash

Patrick Bamford’s condition will be monitored by Leeds United ahead of their important clash against Everton.

Both sides will meet at Elland Road on Tuesday evening [30 August] on matchday five of the Premier League.

According to the BBC, the England international, who has missed the team’s previous two matches due to a groin issue, is closing in on full fitness and his condition will be evaluated before the start of the match.

Great news

Leeds came into this campaign after a horrendous season where hardly anything went write as the side finished in the 17th position.

One of the primary reasons for the team’s struggles in the last season was injuries to Bamford who missed the majority of the campaign and only featured in nine Premier League matches, playing a total of 560 minutes.

His absence took away Leeds’ focal point in the attacking department and the team was found wanting when things started to get really tough.

Therefore, it will be great news for Leeds fans to see that Bamford is close to returning to full fitness as with him in the team, the Whites look a completely different unit.

The 28-year-old has been a Leeds player since the summer of 2018 when he moved from Middlesbrough in a deal worth £7.11 million.

Since then, he has represented his current club in 122 matches across all competitions, scoring 45 times and providing 17 assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
