Pascal Struijk wows Sky Sports man with miraculous Leeds United v Luton moment
Gary Taphouse was left awestruck by the acrobatic clearance that Pascal Struijk made for Leeds United in their Championship clash against Luton on Wednesday.
Victor Moses made his way down the left-hand side of the pitch for the Hatters and chipped the ball over the head of Illan Meslier only for it to be met by the Dutchman who more or less made a bicycle-kick clearance to keep the Whites ahead.
The game ended 3-0 in Leeds’ favour but Struijk’s clearance was undoubtedly one of the most memorable moments of the game.
Speaking live on Sky Sports Plus (27 November, 20:04pm), Sky Sports commentator Taphouse shared his thoughts on the defensive work of the centre-back.
“It’s got through to [Jordan] Clarke, back to Victor Moses, cleared miraculously off the line by [Pascal] Struijk,” he said.
“They thought they were in for an equaliser there, the Hatters.”
Pascal Struijk has been one of the best players in the Leeds United team this season
Leeds’ Championship campaign so far is going fairly well. The West Yorkshire outfit currently sit on top of the Premier League table and have been in some stellar form of late.
Daniel Farke has managed to get his squad firing on all cylinders, and at the moment, it feels fairly difficult to see how the Whites won’t gain promotion to the Premier League this season.
Struijk and Joe Rodon have been two of the team’s best players this term and have formed one of the most formidable centre-back partnerships in the second tier.
The duo work together perfectly and complement each other’s playstyles very well.

Leeds may only have three senior centre-backs within their ranks but with the form that the aforementioned duo have shown thus far, it doesn’t really feel like they need anyone else.
Only time will tell what the future holds for the team, but for now, at least things seem to be going swimmingly.
