Pascal Struijk sends message to Leeds United fans after what happened v Sheffield United

Pascal Struijk shared a post to Leeds United fans on social media after scoring in his side’s victory over Sheffield United.

Posting on X [19 October], the stand-in captain delivered a rallying call to the Whites faithful following the crucial 2-0 win on Friday night [18 October].

Struijk’s crucial second-half intervention opened the scoring at Elland Road after he expertly finished Joe Rothwell’s corner delivery, before Mateo Joseph sealed the success with a goal off the bench late on.

The defender shared the morning after the win: “Secured the points at Elland Road”, accompanied by a ‘home’ emoji and four celebration and action images.

Pascal Struijk leads by example for Leeds United

Struijk was impeccable on the night for Leeds United at both ends of the field.

Kieffer Moore was expected to be far more of a threat leading the line for the Blades but got very little change from the Dutch youth international, who continues to grow into a superb defender.

Callum O’Hare, heavily linked with Leeds over the summer before a free transfer to Bramall Lane instead, was equally ineffective against Daniel Farke’s backline and was hooked by Chris Wilder after an hour.

Illan Meslier – who has reluctantly accepted plenty of the spotlight following his costly mistake at Sunderland on 4 October – was afforded the ideal quiet game on his return by Struijk and Joe Rodon ahead of him.

Three of Leeds’ next five fixtures are back at Elland Road, including Tuesday night’s [22 October] hosting of a Watford side who have exceeded early expectations to land themselves inside the top six.

In other Leeds news, another free agent midfielder is linked with Farke’s side.
