Pascal Struijk sends Leeds United fan message after what happened v Sunderland

Pascal Struijk netted a late brace for Leeds United to secure a wild win against Sunderland.

The Dutchman was a surprise substitute in LS11, coming on alongside Joe Rothwell with less than 20 minutes to go.

It is safe to say that Daniel Farke was inspired with his change as the two combined for two late headers to secure a 2-1 win.

The scenes at Elland Road were superb with fans singing long into the night which ultimately caused some damage to one supporter.

Not only did this goal secure three points but it sent Farke’s side back to the top of the Championship after Sheffield United took the lead just days before.

As a result, scoring a 95th-minute winner is always likely to spark wild scenes in the stands and that was certainly the case in West Yorkshire.

Given how much was riding on the clash at Elland Road, it is no surprise to see fans and players alike failing to contain their excitement.

This saw one fan dislocate their shoulder while celebrating before joking that Struijk should be expecting an invoice after scoring the goal.

The 25-year-old reacted hilariously via X (19 February) as he said: “Hope you’re well, mate. How can we sort this out?”

Right now, everything is well surrounding the Whites with promotion looking like a realistic goal for the end of the campaign.

After the heartbreak of the playoff season last time out and the sale of Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray, this campaign has certainly exceeded expectations.

As a result, it is no surprise as to how wildly the fans reacted to the goal against the Black Cats to the two late goals.

Some supporters clearly enjoyed it more than others with a dislocated shoulder being a warrior wound from such crazy celebrations.

It is proof of how great of an atmosphere is around Elland Road that the captain is reaching out to this fan to see what he can do to help.

It is yet to be seen what Struijk will do to help the injured fan but whatever it is supporters will be keen to know what it is.
