Pascal Struijk, Dan James still injured for Leeds United v Rotherham amid Connor Roberts update

Daniel Farke has confirmed that Pascal Struijk and Daniel James will miss the Championship clash between Leeds United and Rotherham this weekend.

The boss also confirmed that Jamie Shackleton is a major doubt after not training all week due to illness, but January signing Connor Roberts is in contention to make his debut although he has only trained with the whole group once due to the hectic fixture schedule.

“Much improved, he is not far away from returning to team training but he will definitely miss this game,” Farke said about James during his pre-match press conference (9 February).

“Jamie Shackleton is ill and still hasn’t trained with us.

“Training is this afternoon so we will see how he responds today, but he is the only player close to being involved.”

Daniel Farke is the perfect Leeds United manager

Elland Road has been a big factor in the form of Leeds this season having been unbeaten all campaign, but that is because the fans are so behind him.

Farke has an aura about him where he completely understands exactly what this club is about, what the expectations are, and how to run it.

His team selections and some of the decisions he has made have been questioned at times this season but he seems to usually be proven right, and now he has earned the trust of the fans which has put the team in a terrific place.

A win against Rotherham is something that the team shouldn’t be taking for granted despite the fact they have one win in 18 in all competitions, and it should be remembered they held the Whites to a draw earlier in the season.

The team is strong, healthy and in good form so now they can look towards continuing their excellent form. With Farke in charge, that’s more likely to happen than not.
