Parlour drops new Leeds United promotion verdict as Elland Road admission shared
Ray Parlour believes Leeds United will be one of the two Championship teams to go up automatically this season.
The Whites are currently sat on top of the second-tier table and have a three-point cushion between themselves and second-placed Sheffield United.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (3 January, 07:27am), Parlour shared his thoughts on Leeds’ form this season and admitted he loves the atmosphere at Elland Road.
“I think Leeds will definitely go up automatically,” he said.
“I hope Leeds will go up because Elland Road is such a fantastic stadium and the atmosphere”.
Leeds United have to earn Championship promotion this season
Since the start of the 2024/25 campaign, the Whites have been mooted to become the second-tier title winners.
The West Yorkshire outfit have one of the strongest teams in the division and thanks to players such as the formidable duo of Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk, it’s not hard to see why they’ve been touted as one of the favourites.
Although no moves are likely to be made by the West Yorkshire outfit in January as the German has said himself, it feels like they have more than enough quality to beat Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United to the top spot.

If Farke fails to lead his squad to promotion, however, it’s hard to see how he’d be able to keep his role as Leeds’ manager because regaining their Premier League status was one of the main reasons he was brought to Elland Road in the first place.
Only time will tell what the future holds but at the moment, things are looking good for the Whites.
