Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Eduoard Michut open to Leeds United transfer due to one key factor

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Eduoard Michut is open to a Leeds United move this summer, according to claims made by Dean Jones.

The former Eurosport journalist told Give Me Sport [20 July] that their style of play is something that could attract the 20-year-old Frenchman.

The PSG man spent last season on loan at Sunderland and nearly got them promoted to the Premier League.

Jones said, “Michut would offer something a bit different to Leeds and he is open-minded about the move as it could fit his style of play.

“He could have stayed at Sunderland but he wasn’t getting on the ball enough and at Leeds, a side we have to expect will dominate games, would give him more opportunity to get on the ball and make things happen.

“He has a nice bit of creation about him and what he lacks in experience he makes up for in technical quality. I think he would be a really good addition to the squad as they are going to need various tools for different types of games and, in the middle, it does seem like they are light of someone who can bring what he can.

“Leeds do have limitations in terms of their spending in the Championship this season and this could be an astute addition.”

Good move

Despite only being 20, Michut’s already made a handful of appearances for the Parisiens.

He was out on loan last season and did a decent job at Sunderland and there’s nothing to suggest he won’t do well at Leeds.

It remains to be seen if PSG will be willing to sell one of their brightest under-21 prospects this summer or would prefer to loan him out.

A loan would also work for Leeds as they need stopgap players to help them return to the Premier League.

PSG know that a good season at Leeds could see his value skyrocket and there’s a chance that the Whites would want to sign him permanently should he deliver the goods.

It remains to be seen if they do end up making a legitimate pursuit to secure his services this summer.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have agreed on personal terms to secure their next signing after Ethan Ampadu.
