Paraag Marathe turns away Leeds United media staff as Norwich City footage emerges

Paraag Marathe turned away the Leeds United media staff following their victory over Norwich City, according to Pat McCormick.

The Australian journalist shared a video via X (17 May) which showed Marathe taking a moment to himself after the Whites’ 4-0 victory over the Canaries at Elland Road on Thursday (16 May).

Alongside the video, McCormick wrote, “Paraag Marathe last to leave the directors box with a moment to himself. Club media came up to film him but he quickly turned them away.

“No fuss, no attention seeking and unassuming – compare that to some previous owners.”

Supporters at Elland Road will be delighted by the way Marathe behaved after full-time.

Instead of making the result all about himself and seeking out the cameras, he instead chose to turn away any media attention and reflect alone on what was a fantastic evening in West Yorkshire.

It demonstrates that he has the club’s best interests at heart, with his private moment of reflection revealing how much he cares about Leeds.

This is a refreshing change of pace from previous owners at Elland Road, and fans should be excited about the future under 49ers Enterprises.

Daniel Farke has the team playing some fantastic football, and the prospect of an instant return to the Premier League suddenly feels like a real possibility.

Although Leeds and the play-offs haven’t always got along, the performance against Norwich demonstrates that this current side is capable of overcoming that jinx.

If they play the way they did on Thursday (16 May), victory is almost a certainty at Wembley.
