Paraag Marathe amazes at Leeds United as class Elland Road act emerges

Paraag Marathe expressed his gratitude to around 300 staff members at Leeds United via videolink from California ahead of Christmas, according to the Daily Mail.

Mike Keegan, writing on the newspaper’s website (22 December), reported that the Whites bosses have handed their employees a £200 Christmas bonus in a “morale-boosting move”.

In his video message, Marathe, who has also committed to a redevelopment at Elland Road, told them they could use the extra money to buy “something special” for their loved ones.

Staff, who were also given a Christmas meal and a separate party, have been impressed by the chairman and the 49ers Enterprises since their takeover.

Paraag Marathe and 49ers Enterprises impress at Leeds United

Leeds United are in a strong position to earn promotion to the Premier League this season as they sit second in the Championship with 45 points after 22 games – three behind table-toppers Sheffield United.

There is no doubt that the morale is high in Daniel Farke’s camp ahead of Christmas, having earned a thumping 4-0 victory over Oxford United on Saturday, 21 December.

However, the family-like environment extends beyond the first team at Elland Road, with everyone involved in the club made to feel part of the club’s success.

This is why Marathe’s decision to hand out £60,000 in bonuses for Christmas is such a classy gesture.

As Keegan mentioned, the 49ers Enterprises have done well to get everyone at the West Yorkshire club on board since their takeover last year.

Gestures like these will only stand Marathe and co in good stead as they look to take Leeds back to their glory days.
