‘Panic’ — TalkSPORT pundit names the Premier League teams that will be ‘concerned’ by Leeds start

Leeds have enjoyed a bright start to life in the Premier League.

Daniel Farke’s side have picked up seven points from their first five games and currently sit 12th in the table.

Leeds played very well in their 3-1 victory over Wolves last Saturday, and looked far better than a team destined to fight relegation.

Instead, it’s some of the more established Premier League teams who are looking like obvious relegation candidates this year.

Darren Bent says that Wolves and West Ham will be worried about the Premier League’s promoted sides

Leeds outclassed Wolves tactically at the weekend, and they have been defensively solid throughout most games this season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor all looked threatening at Molineux, calming previous fears about Leeds’ attacking prowess.

Several pundits who tipped Leeds to get relegated have changed their minds, such has been their start to the season.

Now, on his TalkSPORT Drive radio show, Darren Bent has suggested that Wolves and West Ham will be worried about the start that Leeds and the other promoted teams have made.

Addressing how these teams may be feeling, he said: “You can’t help but look at it and go ‘a little bit of panic’. Fair play to them, all of them are doing well.

“You look at last season, the three promoted sides took absolutely ages to get a result, so I think you are concerned.

“For the first time in a few years, it’s not a foregone conclusion that the three teams that come up go back down. We always say the gap between the Premier League and the Championship is massive, well this season it ain’t.”

Leeds have a great chance to continue their bright start against AFC Bournemouth

Farke has built a Leeds side with a solid spine that is hard to beat. Other than the 5-0 defeat at Arsenal, they haven’t conceded more than one goal in a game.

Meanwhile, Stach and Sean Longstaff are dominating midfield battles while Calvert-Lewin is showing signs of reaching his peak form.

The Cherries are a dangerous side, but Leeds have a great record against them, and the confidence gained from the victory against Wolves could be a deciding factor.

Farke continues to suggest that the primary goal is avoiding relegation, but he may be quietly confident of his team exceeding these expectations.

If the Whites can make the most of their momentum and pick some extra points before the next international break, there’s no telling what they could achieve this season.
