Pablo Hernandez’s wife sends message to Leeds United as footage of fans emerges in Spain

Mar Garcia has thanked Leeds United fans for turning up to watch her husband Pablo Hernandez play for CD Castellon on Saturday (28 May).

Scores of Leeds fans attended Castellon’s 3-1 defeat to UE Cornella to simply watch Hernandez, 37, playing for the Spanish third-tier side he joined from the Whites last year.

Footage of the Leeds fans signing about Hernandez has emerged on Twitter, leading to the ex-Elland Road star applauding those who made their way to his hometown club near Valencia.

“Thank you, Leeds,” said Garcia via her personal Twitter account on Saturday night (28 May).

“So much to learn from you.”

She ended her tweet with a hashtag saying: “Until we meet again.”

Legend

Leeds cannot say they’ve had too many legends made in the last couple of decades.

Of course, there were some who were at Elland Road in the final stages of our last spell in the Premier League.

However, not many have come up since then.

But then came Hernandez.

El Mago first arrived in West Yorkshire on loan from Al-Arabi in the 2016/17 before his move was made permanent the following summer.

He eventually played a massive role in Leeds’ return to the Premier League and even impressed at times in the top-flight last season as the Whites finished ninth.

In total, Hernandez made 175 appearances for Leeds – more than he’s made for any other club – while also scoring 36 goals and supplying 41 assists.

Hernandez is a Leeds legend.

He’s one of the biggest reasons why we’re back in the big-time and he gave us some of our best memories while in the Championship.

We wish him all the best at Castellon and we cannot wait for him and his family to one day return to Elland Road as guests of the club.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign this 11-goal forward from one of England’s crisis clubs.
