Pablo Hernandez sends one-word message to Leeds United trio amid official announcement

Pablo Hernandez reacted with a one-word message as Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas won the Leeds United Special Achievement award.

The club confirmed that the Elland Road trio had been awarded for their “outstanding contribution” to the club, on and off the pitch over many years.

All three players were part of Leeds’ famous Championship-winning side that saw the club promoted to the Premier League in 2019/20 for the first time in 16 years.

Reacting to the announcement via the club’s official Instagram post on Thursday (18 April), Hernandez simply wrote: “Legends!!” with a praise emoji.

Leeds United trio awarded at Elland Road

Following Dallas’ recent announcement that he would be retiring from football at the end of the season, what better way to honour the Northern Irishman?

And despite Cooper dropping down Daniel Farke’s pecking order this season, the centre-back remains an integral part of the squad, as he has done so since 2014.

As for Ayling, he is currently out on loan with Middlesbrough in an attempt to gain valuable minutes on the pitch, but his love for the club is still evident.

The trio’s appearances amass over 800 in total. They will share some incredible memories at Elland Road for the rest of their lives, and Leeds fans will be incredibly thankful that they were able to share that with them.

They will also join the history books alongside Hernandez, who was a fan favourite, especially under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa, though he only made 175 total appearances at Elland Road.

It will be an extremely sad day when all three hang up their boots, already evidenced by the pouring of emotion over Dallas’ announcement last week before he was serenaded at half-time during the Whites’ match against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday 13 April.

Either way, Hernandez is absolutely right. Dallas, Ayling and Cooper are legends at Elland Road.
