Pablo Hernandez has found himself a new club

Former Leeds United man Pablo Hernandez has found himself a new club in Spain and is about to sign for CD Castellon after his exit from Elland Road, according to Super Deporte.

They claim that the 36-year-old has “already made his decision”, and he turned down offers with “greater economic weight” to play for Castellon. This is the club that Hernandez started his career with, and this latest move will allow him to return “home” after five years with the Whites.

The report even claims that the Spaniard was in talks to join Castellon in January, but Leeds refused “to let him out”, but now, he is back where it all began after a long career spanning many countries.

Hernandez is going home!

While he was at Leeds, Hernandez became a bit of a favourite with many fans and was also loved by Marcelo Bielsa.

He helped the Whites win promotion to the Premier League and will probably never be forgotten for that goal he scored against Swansea City in the 2019/20 season to pretty much seal the club’s return to the Premier League [BBC].

He didn’t play that often in the Premier League during the last campaign, but we can’t see many Leeds fans forgetting about him soon for his efforts in the Championship.

This is a lovely move for the Spaniard, and the fact that he turned down offers with better wages to return to Castellon probably just shows the character of the man who became an integral player for the Whites in his time at Elland Road.

Hopefully, he enjoys his time back at Castellon before retiring whenever he decides to do that.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have made an offer for a central midfielder, who has rejected a contract offer from a Premier League rival.
