MOT View: Secret is out as Durham claims Leeds ace is the player Arsenal man ‘dreams of being’
Adrian Durham has paid huge respect to Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips after Monday night’s FA Cup clash and said he’s “the player Granit Xhaka probably dreams of being”.
Leeds might have lost the game but they won a legion of new fans after dominating the Premier League side in the first 45 minutes.
Phillips ensured that Mesut Ozil was totally anonymous and talking on talkSPORT’s Drive on Tuesday evening, Durham and Danny Murphy let everyone know just how good they thought he was.

“There was a Leeds midfielder who outshone everyone on Monday night, Kalvin Phillips. He’s the player Granit Xhaka probably dreams of being,” Durham said.
Murphy agreed saying he is a “tremendous player”.
He went on to say, “Ozil was trying to keep track of him but couldn’t get near him… I’d be amazed, if Leeds were to mess up and not go up, he’ll be a Premier League player next season. I think he could play in one of the top teams.”

The secret is out now, if it wasn’t before.
Phillips was attracting interest from sides such as Aston Villa and Sheffield United over the summer. Now Danny Murphy is talking about him landing in a team like Man City.
That’s potentially how good Phillips is and he proved that he can make the step up to the Premier League with ease on Monday night.
He’s a Leeds player, born and bred, and he’ll be desperate to get to the top-flight with Leeds. He’s already shown us loyalty over the summer. Now we need to repay that by giving him Premier League football at Elland Road.
