'Our secret weapon next year', '20/21 golden boot' - Many Leeds fans awestruck by loaned-out ace
Jay-Roy Grot’s future at Leeds United has not exactly looked promising in the last couple of years.
The 21-year-old forward arrived at Elland Road in August 2017 from NEC Nijmegen but really failed to convince supporters as he scored once in 22 appearances in his debut season.
Grot was promptly sent out on loan the following summer with VVV-Venlo snapping him up for the season as he went on to score six goals in 33 Eredivisie appearances.
While it wasn’t numbers to blow Leeds away, it was an improvement. Nevertheless, Grot was loaned out again last summer with Vitesse signing him on a season-long loan – perhaps a step up from Venlo to show he was on the right track.
But since then, Grot has played 25 times in total, started just nine league games and scored just two goals.
However, his second, and most recent goal, has got a lot of Leeds fans talking on Twitter as it was an absolute beauty.
The loaned-out Leeds striker picked up the ball in his own half and managed to dribble the ball all the way to the FC Twente penalty area before finding the back of the net.

It was a brilliant solo goal and Leeds fans on social media were delighted to see one of their young outcasts do so well.
However, while Grot must have been on a massive high after that goal, he was brought crashing back down to earth after with Leeds confirming he’s set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury he suffered against Twente.
It’s a devastating blow but at least supporters have been encouraged by what they’ve seen ahead of his return to Elland Road in the summer.

Pre-season under Bielsa and he could be fabulous

I'd love to see what Bielsa could do with him. Pace, strength, and skill. Only have to look at Phillips and Harrison to see what he can do raw talent.
