Orta and Radrizzani jet out to meet club president, want to close Leeds striker deal – report
Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani and sporting director Victor Orta are in Valencia to try to get a deal for striker Rodrigo over the line, according to Spanish outlet AS.
The report claims that they’ve travelled to Turia to try to close the deal and will meet with Valencia president Anil Muthy on Tuesday.
AS also claim that Valencia will sign striker Borja Mayoral imminently.
This report comes after another Spanish outlet Super Deporte claimed that Leeds were talking to Rodrigo’s father about contract terms.
Both reports have talked about a £35.8m fee.
Rodrigo and a striker?
The deal for Rodrigo really seems to be picking up pace at the moment.
Leeds have been linked with a lot of players but the last two reports on Rodrigo have gone into specifics about talks and now about Orta and Radrizzani.
Leeds fans are getting excited but this would be a deal that would cost Leeds a lot of money and we’re going to have to trust that Bielsa is right about this one.
Rodrigo has never been a prolific goal scorer and MOT Leeds News columnist Paul Robinson believes that Leeds need a striker who can score 15+ goals.
Rodrigo has been playing out wide more for Valencia recently.
Could Leeds sign Rodrigo and another, more out-and-out, striker?
UOL reported that the agents of Arthur Cabral were jetting into Europe for a meeting with Leeds today and that could tie in with Orta and Radrizzani’s trip.
That would be a very interesting proposition, and it would make us feel a lot happier about the deal for Rodrigo.
