Only Leeds United can beat Nottingham Forest record as Ange Postecoglou sacked

Leeds United have started the Premier League season well, as carnage ensues elsewhere.

Promoted clubs to the Premier League have all been relegated in the past two seasons, with little hope given to the Whites, Sunderland and Burnley again this year.

Despite that, all three have started superbly in the circumstances and are looking at the so-called established teams for those who are slacking.

Nottingham Forest could be the ones somehow in trouble, already going through two managers.

Ange Postecoglou sacked at Nottingham Forest

Postecoglou was sacked by Nottingham Forest on Saturday, minutes after they lost 3-0 to Chelsea at the City Ground on 18 October.

Nuno Espirito Santo has already been relieved of his duties this season by the Reds, who are now 18th despite qualifying for the Europa League last campaign.

The Australian has only lasted 39 days, taking home his second payout in a matter of months after leaving Tottenham over the summer.

Leeds United beat Ange Postecoglou record

Leeds have consistently been linked with Postecoglou, but that possibility looks near-impossible after his torrid few months in English football.

Postecoglou’s 39 days in charge at Forest can only be beaten by one reign in the Premier League, though, and it was at Leeds.

Sam Allardyce is a reminder of the dark recent times at Elland Road, coming in to try and save the sinking ship before Leeds were last relegated.

Allardyce only lasted 30 days and left after a dreadful stint, which followed similar spells from Javi Gracia and Jesse Marsch in the same season.

The less said about that record-breaking stint, the better, but the former England manager will argue that he wasn’t sacked, given his short-term contract.

Either way, many will be delighted he didn’t last any longer, with the defeat against Tottenham enough for anybody to cringe just from looking at the teamsheet.

Postecoglou is second in the list, and it looks highly unlikely that Allarydce’s doomed spell in West Yorkshire will be beaten in the Premier League.
