'Only a matter of time', 'Go up and we're rich' - Many Leeds fans thrilled by Radrizzani reveal

Leeds United fans are delighted to see that owner Andrea Radrizzani has reiterated that he wants to seek fresh investment for the club.

Earlier this week, 90min reported that Radrizzani had been in talks with QSI chief Nasser al-Khelaifi and a takeover deal worth around £120million was close to being agreed.

In an interview with Sky Sports Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Radrizzani has dismissed that story by 90min as nothing more than a rumour but has confirmed he still wants to work with al-Khelaifi.

Radrizzani is not the sole investor at Leeds with San Francisco 49ers having a 10 per cent stake in the Yorkshire club.

The Italian businessman has now revealed that he is keen to secure more investment partners if Leeds were to win promotion to the Premier League.

“In the last few weeks, everything took a back seat. My desire to have a great Leeds that is a protagonist in the Premier League and to do so we will need partners on top of the San Francisco 49ers. We’ll evaluate this when we are in that league,” Radrizzani said.

Understandably, Radrizzani’s reveal has some Leeds fans salivating on social media, with one even jumping to say that the investment is “happening”.

While that might be premature – because Radrizzani does make it clear that everything is on pause at the moment – it is no surprise that fans are excited because of QSI’s spending power and how they have transformed Paris Saint-Germain.
