‘One to watch’ – Phil Hay responds to Leeds transfer story as £15m report emerges

It has been a rollercoaster couple of years for Leeds United at Elland Road under Marcelo Bielsa.

Similar could be said for Harry Wilson. The Liverpool youngster shined on loan at Derby, made his Wales international debut and then showed what he could do in the Premier League at Bournemouth.

The Sun has reported that the 23-year-old is still wanted by the Whites, who are readying a £15million offer for his services.

That is half of what Leeds were quoted previously, something which could tempt Victor Orta, who is a massive fan of the winger.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay has recently commented on the links, claiming that it is “one to watch” for Whites fans.

“Harry Wilson is an interesting case,” he wrote.

“He’s been very highly rated by Leeds (and Victor Orta especially) for a while and he’s always on the list of possibles. With Wilson, it would depend on price and what Liverpool intend to do with him. One to watch, possibly.”

There were question marks over Wilson’s ability to perform in the Premier League, and despite Bournemouth being relegated he shined at times.

The 23-year-old was the Cherries’ second-highest scorer all season, despite 11 of his 31 appearances coming as a substitute.

Wilson has the ability to roam around the final third, similar to Hernandez – but he is also capable of the spectacular with the winger having quite the showreel of goals in his short career.

So, with Hay claiming this is one to watch and with Orta clearly fascinated, Wilson could finally secure a move to Elland Road after years of links.
