'Obsessed', 'Rent-free' – Some fans react as Jeremy Clarkson trolls Leeds but gets it all wrong

Jeremy Clarkson has done his best to wind Leeds United fans up today on his 60th birthday. The trouble is, he got it horribly wrong.

Clarkson tweeted, “What a day to be celebrating. 50 years since Chelsea smashed Leeds”.

Clarkson was talking about the FA Cup final in 1970. The only problem is, on this day 50 years ago the score was 2-2. And it took a late goal from Ian Hutchinson in the 86th minute to secure Chelsea extra time and a replay.

Mick Jones gave Leeds the lead in the replay on April 29 only for a late goal from Peter Osgood and an extra-time winner from Dave Webb to deny Don Revie’s side the trophy.

We suppose you can’t expect Clarkson to have the best recall at the grand old age of 60 and plenty of Leeds fans were ready to rip into him, birthday or no birthday.

Better luck next time gramps.
