Nottingham Forest eye transfer for Leeds United star Tyler Adams

Nottingham Forest have reportedly entered the race to sign Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams post the Whites’ relegation.

According to the Daily Mail [5 June], Forest have held meetings about potential transfers this summer and the United States midfielder is understood to be on their wishlist.

The 24-year-old is understood to be on his way out this summer as one of the “high profile” departures at Elland Road and would cost £30million, per Bolavip.

Can do better

Leeds and most of their fans will want to keep the American at the club as he was one of their best players this season.

Players coming from leagues like the Bundesliga tend to take time to adapt to life in the Premier League, but the 24-year-old settled in quickly.

He became one of the first names on the team sheet for Jesse Marsch and continued being a regular under Javi Gracia too, before an injury ended his season.

His leadership also was second to none and had Leeds stayed up and established themselves as a Premier League regular, he perhaps could’ve become the captain.

However, moving to Forest is not really taking a step up as he will battle relegation next season if he moves there, but they can tempt him with high wages as they’re owned by a multi-billionaire. [The Sun]

Instead, his eye will be on a top half club, perhaps one in Europe, if he does decide to stay in the Premier League.

The likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and even Brighton will be looking for midfielders this summer and a case can be made for him fitting in at any of those sides.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a Whites senior player is now set to leave the club at a discounted fee post relegation and will not be signing a new contract.
