Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa in Tyler Adams hunt as Leeds United release clause emerges
Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are both interested in Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams as the summer window edges closer, according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay.
Adams, who has been referred to as an “incredible” footballer (Men in Blazers, 11 February), is believed to be available for £30million (Bolavip, 29 May).
Hay has since revealed (8 June) that Forest and Villa are both taking a look at the 24-year-old, who only joined Leeds last summer.

No surprises
This really shouldn’t come as a surprise for Leeds fans. The 24-year-old was probably the standout performer when it comes to Leeds’ summer additions. His injury towards the back end of the season was a huge blow to Leeds’ survival hopes.
Despite Adams being part of a relegated team, it’s unlikely the midfielder will be playing in the Championship next season. He’s almost certainly worth £30million and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see either Villa or Forest make a move.

It’s a case of cutting losses for Leeds. Adams would be a brilliant player to have in the second tier but whether he wants to play in the Championship is up for debate. Whoever takes the job at Elland Road will need players who are committed to the cause.
There’s no doubting Adams’ commitment, but everyone associated with the club knows he’s far too good not to be playing in the Premier League. With Forest and Villa both interested, a bidding war could well be on the cards.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a Whites senior player is now set to leave the club at a discounted fee post-relegation and will not be signing a new contract.
