Nothing advanced for Victor Orta to leave Leeds United as Chelsea must consider offer for January
Leeds United chief Victor Orta is still being considered by Chelsea for their Sporting Director role despite numerous appointments, according to Ben Jacobs.
The CBS journalist has reported that the billionaire-owned club must now decide whether to continue with Toddy Boehly in that role or put an offer on the table for someone to be ready in January.
Orta is said to be happy at Elland Road, but no offer is said to be ready or anything even advanced for the major exit to happen in the coming months.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Jacobs mooted that a short-term deal was potentially on the cards as Boehly enjoys his negotiations.
“Christopher Vivell’s imminent arrival, coupled with recruitment specialist Kyle Macaulay, means Chelsea aren’t in as big a rush unless the right name presents itself,” he wrote.
“Leeds’ Victor Orta has been considered but it’s not thought anything has advanced to date.
“Chelsea must decide whether to offer a candidate the role who can be in ready for January or continue with Boehly in the short term. Boehly, from what I am told, has really enjoyed negotiating.”
On the cards?
Annoyingly, this cannot yet be ruled out.
Boehly has thrown cash at his issues at Chelsea so far since taking over, including transfers and his overhaul of the entire staff around him at Stamford Bridge.
Would a huge payday persuade Orta to pull up his roots in West Yorkshire and move his family down the London? It could, although his passion for Leeds may outweigh that.
The American billionaire is said to have enjoyed negotiations, but there will come a point where he cannot keep doing that with other matters on hand.
Andrea Radrizzani will no doubt be in constant discussions with Orta over general plans for Leeds, so it would be a surprise if this also didn’t pop up in talks.
A new deal for Orta to remain would make sense, with the boardroom and make-up having been solid for years at the club with no real need for major changes right now.
All eyes are on this one up until January now.
