Michael Owen has backed Leeds United to pick up a single point from their Premier League clash with Newcastle on Tuesday evening.
The pundit has predicted that it will finish 1-1 at St James’ Park, with both sides not in the best of form since the New Year.
Owen claims that despite the pressure mounting on Steve Bruce, he can’t be too confident in the Whites or Marcelo Bielsa either.
Writing in his Bet Victor predictions column, Owen has claimed that he wouldn’t be surprised to see this one in end a draw.
“Leeds travel to Newcastle in need of a result,” he said.
“The Yorkshire side have lost their last three matches in all competitions, so they’ll be aiming to get back on track on Tyneside.
“You can say the same for Newcastle. Pressure is mounting on Steve Bruce and the closer the Magpies descend towards the bottom three, the more the heat will increase on their manager.
“Newcastle have lost their last four in the Premier League; however, I am not too confident in Leeds just now. So, with both sides so out of form, I wouldn’t be surprised if this one finished all square.
Leeds will be desperate for three points, and one point against a struggling side such as Newcastle won’t be on the agenda.
The Magpies are in disarray, and were recently described by Jamie Carragher as a “nothing club” – this is the perfect game for the Whites.
With dangerman Allan Saint-Maximin unfit to start the game, Bruce has very limited options to cause the Whites problems in defence.

Leeds had 25 shots on goal that night, and if that happens again tomorrow night, there will only be one outcome in the North East, and that isn’t a draw.
