David Prutton drops ‘isn’t good enough’ verdict as Sky Sports host predicts Norwich City v Leeds United

David Prutton says the recent form of Norwich City “isn’t good enough”, but the Sky Sports host has backed the Canaries to claim a draw against Leeds United this weekend.

Leeds make the trip to Carrow Road on Saturday (21 October) looking to pick up from where they left off prior to the international break when recording back-to-back victories.

Norwich are only two points worse off than the Whites, but they have won just one of their past five Championship matches in a run that includes a 6-2 thrashing at Plymouth Argyle.

Predicting a 2-2 draw in Norfolk, Prutton told Sky Sports (19 October): “Norwich have a little work to do to rectify their form, because they won just one in their last five, which isn’t good enough if you want to push into the top six in this league.

“Leeds look strong, but need to go on a real run if they are going to catch up with the runaway top two. They have looked good defensively, but I see goals here and a fun draw.”

Big game

Leeds are undoubtedly the side in better form, but the two-week break came at a bad time as it has possibly disrupted the growing momentum they had been building.

Former Norwich boss Daniel Farke will be eager for his returning players to hit the ground running against Norwich, with this arguably the toughest test of his tenure yet.

Norwich may have registered some disappointing results over the past month or so, but they are seventh in the division for a reason and do tend to find themselves in the promotion picture when push comes to shove.

Given the tight nature of the Championship, a defeat this weekend would likely see Leeds drop out of the play-offs, whereas a win could see them climb as high as third.

This really is a massive contest at Carrow Road, which hopefully will go the way of the form book and result in another Leeds victory.

In other Leeds United news, a former Jesse Marsch favourite is now proving his doubters wrong away from Elland Road.
