‘Nonsense’, ‘That’s the problem’ – These Leeds fans not happy with comments from attacking star
Confidence is a good thing but Leeds United fans haven’t been left impressed by recent comments from Tyler Roberts.
Talking in an interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post Roberts said, “All of the boys know we’re the best team in the Championship, we deserve to go up.”
Roberts hasn’t played much this season after injury but came back into the fray with a cameo appearance against Wigan.
He couldn’t effect a change in the 26 minutes he was on the pitch and Leeds slumped to a very disappointing 1-0 defeat.
And given Leeds’ recent form that’s seen them lose three of the last four games, fans don’t think it’s enough to just say ‘Leeds are the best’.
They want to see the players ‘walk the walk’ and not just ‘talk the talk’ and you can understand why.
Leeds won’t get promoted by being the best team in the league but by winning enough points to get over the line.
Goals are the big issue at the moment and just one from Roberts in 11 appearances this season isn’t enough.
Pride comes before a fall and one fan said Roberts’ words would come back to bite him.
We hope not. We’re all for confidence but you need to back it up and hopefully Leeds and Roberts will do that over the next two games.
