Nohan Kenneh and Stuart McKinstry take part in Leeds United training

Jesse Marsch is full steam ahead in his preparations for this weekend’s game as Leeds United take on Manchester City at Elland Road.

The Whites are still not completely safe from relegation and taking on the league leaders isn’t the game they would necessarily pick to face but they are on their longest unbeaten run of the season at five games.

And to help the senior team, even more, two of the Under-23s leading stars of the season have been training with the first team with a potential first appearance to come before the season is over.

The Yorkshire Evening Post report that both Nohan Kenneh and Stuart McKinstry have been mixing it with the senior players this week.

Fellow youngsters Lewis Bate, Sam Greenwood, Joe Gelhardt and Crysencio Summerville have joined them in Marsch’s sessions too, having all already played for the Whites’ senior setup.

We’d all love to see some of our own homegrown talents get their debuts for Leeds United and it’s been a wonderful season for that.

But against the Premier League leaders and reigning champions, that isn’t the game the be throwing an inexperienced teenager into the fold unless you have no other option.

Things are going very swimmingly at Elland Road under Marsch and to shake up the pack while in good form is always a risky move to make.

Let’s get our Premier League status sorted first before handing out debuts to kids who haven’t played a moment of senior football.

It may have worked with Greenwood and Gelhardt but you need the experienced heads around them to guide them through their first games.

A team full of youngsters would get chewed up and spat out in the cut-throat world of the Premier League so if Marsch is considering Kenneh and McKinstry for this weekend’s game, he must think again.
