No offer from Leeds United for Swansea midfielder Flynn Downes – report
Leeds United have not submitted an offer for Swansea City midfielder Flynn Downes, according to WalesOnline.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Swansea.com Stadium in the ongoing transfer window after shining under Russell Martin.
Earlier in a report published by BBC, the Whites were said to hold a concrete interest in acquiring the services of Downes in the summer.

However, as per the latest report, not only there is no bid from Leeds to sign the midfielder but they are also facing competition from the likes of Southampton, Crystal Palace and Wolves.
Energetic Midfielder
In the recently concluded Championship season with the Swans, Downes played 37 games and had three-goal contributions. He played 71% of the overall Championship minutes for the club [Transfermarkt].
In the 2021-22 championship season, the 23-year-old averaged 1.3 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, and 1.1 clearances per game.
He also had a pass completion rate of 92.6% and made 0.5 key passes per game, which shows that he is equally effective with and without the ball [Whoscored].

Midfield was a massive cause of concern for Marcelo Bielsa and Jesse Marsch in the 2021-22 season.
As Kalvin Phillips was struggling with fitness concerns and the remaining players were extremely inconsistent, the Whites had nowhere to go and were very close to getting relegated.
If Jesse Marsch wants to bring Leeds United back into the top half of the table, he needs midfielders like Downes but whether he is good enough to replace someone like Phillips, who is set to leave the club, is another thing altogether.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites now want to sign this striker with a rival set to kickstart a major £30million+ transfer battle
