'No illusions' - Stuart Dallas responds when asked if Leeds are out for revenge v Cardiff

Leeds United defender Stuart Dallas has turned down claims that the Whites are out for revenge in their upcoming clash against Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites will have bad memories of the reverse fixture at Elland Road, with Marcelo Bielsa’s men having taken a three-goal lead before drawing 3-3.

That result started the downfall in many people’s opinions, with Leeds having gone into a dreadful run of form over Christmas and New Year in the Championship.

Dallas was asked if Leeds are out for revenge at the Cardiff City Stadium but admitted that all they are concentrating on taking home the three points.

It’s not about settling a score, it’s just about going and winning the game,” he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“We know what’s at stake, we know how hard it is going to be and it’s up to us to go and perform how we know that we can and if we do that I am more than confident that we will come away with a result but we are under no illusions how hard it is going to be.”

Leeds suffered from their inability to defend set-pieces last time out, but they were without Liam Cooper in the 3-3 draw.

The Whites also go into this clash on the back of five consecutive wins all with clean-sheets, something that will give the defence confidence moving forward.

Bielsa’s side did dominate the previous meeting and will want to do that once again. They had 15 more shots and kept 69.3% possession [WhoScored] – something which proves that with more effective defending could see Leeds run away with it.
