No agreement reached as Leeds United takeover takes fresh twist

An agreement is reportedly still to be reached between Andrea Radrizzani and San Francisco 49ers for the takeover of Leeds United.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post [07 June, page 28], reports on Tuesday claimed that a deal had been agreed but that is not understood to be the case.

This is due to the fact that Elland Road is expected to be a part of the deal and an agreement on that is still to be reached.

More red tape?

It seems like the takeover is not as advanced as many thought it to be and this certainly is not news Leeds fans were expecting to hear.

Elland Road is a big part of the deal and the San Francisco 49ers need to know that it’s important they sort this out soon.

Radrizzani offered the Leeds stadium as security for a loan to buy another club and that’s not something that should’ve been possible in the first place.

Whether or not this drives up the eventual takeover price, remains to be seen as there could be some last-minute twists.

Radrizzani, undoubtedly, will want to make the most of the club he invested in a few years ago and will try to push for the best possible deal.

What happens from here is anyone’s guess and while it does not seem like the takeover is off the cards, it’s just not completely done.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a Whites senior player is now set to leave the club at a discounted fee post relegation and will not be signing a new contract.
