Nick Hammond to take step back as Leeds United backroom shakeup continues
Nick Hammond is set to reduce the number of hours he works at Leeds United, according to Leeds Live.
Hammond, who has been with the Whites as a transfer consultant since June 2023, will be less involved going forward amid major backroom changes at the club.
The outlet reported via its website on 11 November that he will help the head of football operations Adam Underwood cope with Gretar Steinsson and Jordan Miles’ exits in his upgraded role.
Nick Hammond to be less involved at Leeds United
Hammond spending less time working with Leeds United means he will be less involved in decision-making, especially those related to transfers.
The former goalkeeper initially arrived as an interim football advisor and helped the Whites steady the ship amid the 49ers Enterprises takeover of the club.
Hammond played an important role in bringing Daniel Farke, as well as the signings of Joel Piroe and Joe Rodon at Elland Road.
It, therefore, remains to be seen if his reduced involvement will affect the Yorkshire-based club.

It emerged last week that Steinsson will leave his role as Leeds’ technical director to take up a bigger role with the 49ers (Nancy Froston). It was followed by news that the club’s head of recruitment Miles is also leaving.
While the Elland Road outfit has no plans to hire a direct replacement for Steinsson, they have decided to promote Alex Davies to fill the void that would be left by Miles (Training Ground Guru).
In other Leeds United news, this player is the reason why the Whites were a “man down” against QPR at the weekend.
