Newcastle most likely to tempt Leeds United with big-money offer for Jack Harrison
Newcastle are reportedly the likeliest of the interested clubs to tempt Leeds United with a ‘big-money offer’ to sign Jack Harrison.
According to LeedsLive, Tottenham Hotspur are the other club looking to sign the English winger this summer.
It’s understood that the Magpies are willing to match the valuation of the 25-year-old as manager Eddie Howe is a keen admirer of him.
While Leeds are not said to be keen on selling the winger, every player has their price and they could be tempted into cashing in if an outrageous offer lands at their doorstep for him.
Must not sell
Leeds cannot go one step forward and two steps back in this transfer window after two high-profile exits.
After losing Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips, the squad has become weaker and despite more new players coming in, they’re not quite up to that level as of now.
Losing Harrison would completely change the way this team functions as both new wingers will start the next season along with a new central midfielder, right-back and possibly a centre forward.
Leeds must quickly open talks with Harrison over a new deal and quote a ridiculously high asking fee in case any suitors come knocking.
The fact that Howe admires him could make the Newcastle board prioritise a move for them and their ultra-rich Saudi owners will make any transfer look like a possibility.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a midfielder who was admired by Marcelo Bielsa is set to leave this summer.
