Neil Warnock shares honest Sam Allardyce verdict at Leeds United with ‘level-headed’ claim
Neil Warnock was not surprised by the decision from Leeds United to appoint Sam Allardyce until the end of the season.
Allardyce has been brought in by the Whites to oversee the last four matches of the Premier League campaign.
The West Yorkshire outfit are currently 17th in the table, with only goal difference keeping them out of the relegation zone.

“I think sometimes you just need [someone] level-headed really,” said Warnock, as quoted by Leeds Live. “It didn’t surprise me with Leeds if I’m honest. I thought if I’d got a point on Thursday night they might have rung me on Friday!
“But joking apart, I think it needed a change. I look around everywhere and there’s so much at stake for these teams, isn’t there, financially and everything really. The hierarchy at these clubs make the decisions now and they have to stand by it.”

Heroic status on offer
Allardyce has been in this position many times before, but the manager has been handed the worst possible start this time around with a trip to league leaders Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s men go into the game having just eased past West Ham 3-0 on Wednesday (3 May), with the Manchester outfit set to give it their all against the Whites as they continue their title push.
New Leeds boss Allardyce doesn’t have much time at all to get things in order, but he will be incentivised by the huge rewards on offer should he pull off another relegation miracle.
Aside from the financial bonuses set to go his way, the manager will achieve heroic status at Elland Road if he keeps the club in the top flight for another season.
It’s a relegation battle that looks certain to go right down to the wire, with Leeds desperate for that new manager bounce to see them safely over the line.
In other Leeds United news, one former Premier League manager believes the Whites may just “scrape out of trouble” under new boss Allardyce.
