Neil Warnock says who he wants to win promotion in Leeds United, Leicester, Ipswich battle

Neil Warnock has suggested that he wants Ipswich Town to be promoted to the Premier League ahead of Leeds United this season.

The race for promotion is set to go to the wire as Leicester City and Ipswich challenge the Whites at the top of the Championship.

Speaking on Sky Sports Football, shared via X, Warnock has suggested Kieran McKenna should win Manager of the Year and he wants them to go up.

He said: “You look at the top four clubs, three of those clubs you’d expect to be promoted without a shadow of a doubt, then you’ve got Ipswich really really doing well. I voted for him as my manager of the year.

“It’s going to be a great end to the season, I’m looking forward to it. I love the underdog so I hope Ipswich keep going and spoil the party.”

Should Daniel Farke win Manager of the Season for Leeds United?

It has been a great campaign for Leeds and Farke has been a big part of that despite only making five permanent signings.

He has transformed a team which was faltering in the Premier League, conceding goals for fun and not looking great going forward.

This season the Whites have scored 80 goals but the best change has been defensively. They have conceded just 37 goals which is the least in the Championship.

With that, Illan Meslier has kept the most clean sheets in the division with 18 in 42 matches which is a far cry from his previous season.

Ethan Ampadu has proved to be one of the most important players at Elland Road after being instated as captain.

Although Farke has had more resources and plenty of quality players at his disposal this season, he has had some top success.

He isn’t deserving of the award over the achievements of Ipswich but that doesn’t take away from the job he has done.

In other Leeds United news, Mike Dean was appalled by what an “awful” Whites player did in his latest controversy.
